Unfortunately, not everybody has the choice of getting married before they are pregnant.
I don't think you need to be married to make a loving and safe home for a child though. Getting married solely because you have a child with somebody does not necessarily mean that you will be creating a happy home for a child to be raised in. I think you should get married because you want to get married, and because you are in love with somebody, not because you are having a baby.
