Getting a good night's sleep is a common sense health tactic whether or not you have acne, but I doubt it will cure acne. It certainly didn't do anything for me when I was having problems.

Adequate sleep will definitely help. But first we must define 'adequate sleep'. It is not merely getting 6 hours some time during the night. Instead, adequate sleep is 8 hours of rest at a regular time every night, early enough to fall within the natural sleep cycle of your body.
The body begins its cleansing process around midnight. Your brain expects to be sleeping by 10 pm, when melatonin production starts.
With correct sleep, your cortisol levels (stress) will be lower throughout the day, and you will have less tissue (skin) inflammation and a more balanced endocrine system (hormones).
Correct sleep means going to sleep when its dark, around the same time every night, and getting
restful sleep for about 8 hours - then waking up naturally the next morning. Anything else is not adequate sleep.
Hope that helps!
