Preventing Acne Scars

Acne scars can develop as long as acne is present, so one good form of prevention is actually preventing acne. However, Acne scars can also be prevented even with the presence of acne. This is done by facilitating the healing of the acne, the faster it heals, the shallower the acne scar will be, making it easier to treat, or may need no treatment at all. So, it is best not to touch your face and pick your pimples.

Well it is easier said than done. Acnes are really irritating and you tend to raise your hand to touch it whenever one feels itchy or uncomfortable.

When ever you have an acne or a skin problem it is very true that it is difficult to control hands from itching but by using turmeric paste or calamine lotion it can be stopped

I am fortunate that I didn't develop acne scars due to getting medical treatment pretty early in the process of getting adult acne. As a parent, if my kids would have developed acne (they're all adults now), I would have taken them in for treatment in hopes that scars could be prevented. Medical treatment is not a guarantee no scars will develop, but I think it's about the best thing we can do for our kids if their acne is severe.

IT must be very painfully when you want to touch your face but you should not cause it will be bad for you later , I hate to be in that place so lets hope I don't get there any more .

As I said in my other thread, just don't touch it. Let it grow and pop out on its own. When it is left alone, nothing is hurting your pores. If you touch it and aggetate it, it will tear your pores and in the long run, give you bad scars. I talk from experience.

Very similar to chicken pox i guess when it comes to scaring, using something like calomine lotion can reduce the need to pick/itch/scratch

I am with you there Iron .....I did have acne but not as bad as some of my friends, it was the Chicken Pox that got my face a few pot holes along my brow line.

I have picked at a few pimples from time to time. If I get a large one I tend to pop it. It makes the thing clear up faster. At the same time it has never left me scarred in anyway.
