Fact or Myth: Vinegar
I don't know if this is fact or myth but I heard from a friend that Vinegar can help with acne scars. He said get some cotton balls and dab the vinegar on for about 2-3 weeks.
Anyone know? I think it is very bizzaire and weird. I haven't tried it. Just need some verifications. |

According to the article i have read, vinegar for acne should be done orally. Just take a small amount, 2 tablespoons of vinegar mixed with water and honey. Since vinegar is bad for your teeth, drink quickly and brush afterwards. The only cons are if applied onto skin, it’s smell is pretty strong and can dry out the skin fairly quickly. ![]() |

Thanks for the quick replies.
I always thought vinegar was only for some good salads. I will definately try the vinegar-water-honey mixture if I have time. My teeth got to be in real bad condition last time when I used vinegar orally for some cankersores. |

I haven't used vinegar ever on my face, and I have never really heard anything about anybody using vinegar to diminish the appearance of acne scars. I wonder if your friend was using anything else at the time that helped reduce scarring?

As far as I know drinking two spoons of vinegar has worked for people I know. I am not sure if they dab it on or not as well. I can surely ask. I am not sure how putting it on the outside would be benficial unless to work as a dryout method.
