Go to the doc if

There are a few reasons or times as to when you might want to go to a doctor for acne. Women who suddenly have acne, facial hair and menstrual problems should consult their GYN as this can be related to GYN related illnesses. You might also want to go to the doctor if you try cleaning regimens and OTC products and just see absolutely no results.

Yes and I think they also say to go to a dermatoligist if you are having a lot of scarring.

I think anytime you have persistent acne that is not responding to over-the-counter remedies and good hygiene, you should see a physician. The physician will try to treat it with a presciption most often, and if that doesn't work, they'll refer you to Dermatology for specialized care.

I think as soon as you have problems of acne occuring on to your skin or they are showing up some pimples, immedietely consult the doctor. It might be bad to wait for the time it gets very severe.

You can sometimes get infections and so if you notice an outbreak of acne along with fever, then also go to the doctor.

You don't ncessarily need to right away as some acne is pretty common particularly when you are a teen.
