Is acne genetic? I don't think it is known for sure just yet although i was reading that they are starting to think in some cases it can be.

I never heard before that it could be genetic but it does seem like pretty much anything can have somewhat of a genetic componenet.

It was not genetic in my case. Not one single person in my family had acne, and I never had it as a young person so didn't expect I would either. I developed it in my adult years, with no apparent cause. Too bad it wasn't genetic; at least I could have blamed someone!

i dont think its genetic my dad did not have it when he was of my age so i dont think it is. And i think the other people in the post also agree to what i am saying. i think everyone will agree to this.

I don't think so, my dad told me he has lots of it when he was a teenager, and I have very few, but well, my sister had lots of them, so it could be, I dunno

Well I do know that a lot of times you find out that if you had acne so did your parents so it could be.

I do not believe that acne is genetic. There may be things that are inherited which make you more prone to break out in pimples but all of those things can be controlled through diet and stress management.

That is a good possibility too that some people simply inherit factors that make your more prone to breakouts but do not directly cause them.
