Shaving?
Is it true that shaving can cause acne breakouts? I was talking to a friend the other day and he said he did not like to shave because it always caused him to get large pimples on his upper lip and chin.

It's more likely to be caused by a bad razor, when I start breaking out after shaving, I just get a new disposable razor and I don't get flare-ups for a good while.
If you already have spots, it can aggravate them for a while. |

Shaving will not cause acne, but some people experience a lot of irritation that presents itself as red bumps. Also, a person can get infection at the point of the hair follicles. A sharp razor will prevent problems in some, while others find they do better with an electric razor.

My boyfriend has had a few small problems with shaving. It makes him break out a lot more when he does shave, and it causes a lot of pain. He just changes razors very often, and while it's uncomfortable, he is fine.
