Embarassment

When I developed adult acne, I was so embarassed. I tried covering it up, which made it look all the worse. My sister-in-law would say that I was breaking out because I ate too many sweets (I hardly eat sweets at all) or made it sound like I wasn't washing my face at all. The best thing I ever did was get to a doctor who told me that my acne wasn't my fault and that it wasn't anything to be embarassed about. Has anyone else felt embarassed over their acne?

I have felt embarrassed by acne before one time I was out with my girlfriend and she said I had a big pimple on the side of my forehead so I pulled my hair forward so it covered it up so nobody could see.

Having acne is really embarrassing. Sometimes you just want to stay at home and you can not even socialize with other people. Which may lead to frustration or depression..

This is something that most adults suffering from adult acne go through. I think that many people are embarrassed and that really it is very common and you have no need to worry about what people think.

Yes I feel awkward too because of my adult acne. Do you ever feel as if it "sticks out" more because a lot of people do not think of adults having acne. I mean as a teen it is bad enough but at least there are others around you with acne as well.

I have never had any acne that you would really call embarassing. I never get more than a few at a time. But there have been a couple of occasions when I had one that got really big on my nose or something and people owuld call me Ruldoph.

Ouch. Thats cold. Pun not intended of course.

To tell the truth, I don't find my acne embarrassing at all, mainly because it's not so severe, but when I get a huge one where everyone can see it, I break out the concealer and wear dark shades. Like this annoying blotch I have on my forehead which either sits there contrasting with my pale skin, or bleeding.

yeh I think it is common to try to cover up if you have a very serious pimple as sometimes if yo just have a mild problem it is not overly noticeable.

Of course it is something people would want to cover up. Acne problems often lead to a lot of comments from people. I do not understand why people are so outgoing with acne insults.
