Most adults with acne did not have it as a Teen?

Is this true? I heard several places that people who do not have acne or a little of it as a teenager are more prone to have it as an adult? I find it kind of interesting because this kind of applies to my aunt who had great skin as a teen but now has outbreaks everywhere on her face.

I don't think that it's necessarily true. I think that it depends on how often that person washes their face, and how well they take care of their skin in general.

Some of us can really have acne during our adulthood. But a majority of the population will have it during their teenage years. That is the reason why they are saying that acne is present during the teenage years.

I had clear skin overall as a teen. My acne came on much later in life, so I was really unprepared for it. My husband told me it should make me feel like a teenager, but I didn't see the humor in that at the time!

I forgot to mention that some people's hormones are going to bring it on later as well. Not everybody will experience acne though, and I guess that's fortunate for them.

Obviously it matters and changes per person, not everyone is the same so the development of acne could come in the teen years or your adult ages as well.

What is funny is that I believe that statement to be true. I did not have acne as a teen and do have some issues now. Not real bad or anything. But did not have any acne until I was in late 20's.

I don't think it matters at all, I had a lot of acne when I was a teen, and I still have it, but in a much lower quantity (fortunately) hehe

Well, if this was true then I really got a raw deal. I had acne as a teen and I have it as an adult. I wish someone would have told my face that as an adult I was going to have acne so as a teen I would not. DARN my luck!

I really did not have acne as a teen. Now in my 20's I do have acne so it seems true in my case. I think in part for a women it can be due to changes in hormones at different points in life.
