Family and Holidays

I have been reflecting on my life and finding that my friends play a much more important role in my life than most of my family. My friends are there with me through thick and thin and really know me. This year, I would like to cut back on family time a bit and take a little time out to see my friends on the holidays. Do any of you spend time with friends on holidays or is it strictly a family time?

Hi there!

I always spend holidays with my family. I think it is alright to spend holidays with your friends. Because at least you always have time for your family.

I would rather spend holiday's with family. I am just a very family oriented person though. We have a big family Christmas party every year on Christmas eve where we exchange gifts and have a potluck dinner and its just a great time. I also like big family potluck Thanksgivings, though I have to work this year and wont be able to attend our Thanksgiving dinner. We will be playing games and having dessert at my house though after I get out of work.

When I was still single I do sometimes spend holidays with friends but most of the time I am with my family. Now that I am married I am strictly spending my holidays with my family.

I mostly spend the holidays with my family. Everyone gets together and we have a great time. Although most of my time is devoted to family I still spend a bit of it with friends as well.

I think it is important to balance your time equally between family and friends as they are both important.
