I have been hearing a lot of bad things about the iPhone. I definitely won't be getting one in the near future, because I don't like the only carrier that you can use with them. I also hear that that they break really easily.

They definitely have all sorts of neat little features on them, so I guess it just comes down to if 1) You can afford it and 2) If you are into high tech gadgets that you really don't "need" on a phone but just want them. As for me, I'd like to have one if they were about $200 cheaper

I would not buy the iphone only because it seems to be too expensive and not really worth the money that you would spend on it. If you are really into Apple products then I say go for it, but if not then you'd be better of with a different phone.

Yes, the price is just so outrageous for that little phone. If I had money just to blow, then I may perhaps think of getting it, and even then I would still probably be a little leery about it. It just seems so weird to me to pay $400 for a phone, even WITH all the extras.
