Quitting Smoking

Anyone here an ex smoker that has been successful in quitting? I hear for some people they can walk away from cigarettes with the minimal withdrawal symptoms, while others struggle just to get through the hour.

I was a smoker, I smoked for some years and stopped, I have to say it was easy for me, I did not have any comeback, my friends helped, it was easy, but it is not in most cases...

I smoked for many years. I quit three times until the quitting really stuck. One time I quit for two years and then started up again, so I know how easy it can be to go back if you aren't careful. Quitting was very difficult for me (every time!), but I am so glad I did.

My boyfriend finally quit a couple of months ago. He had been smoking since he was 12, and now he's turning 20 soon. He was able to just throw the rest of the pack away, and that was it. I did notice a change in his behavior though, he was a lot more aggressive. It's gotten better now though.

hmm, that's good to know, a lot of people change their way of being after they stop smoking, I can't even imagine all the harm all those substances can make on a person!

I have an older friends that had quit smoking. After quiting it was like looking at a whole new person that was living a more enjoyable and happier life.

I don't really no anyone personally who has quit smoking but I know people who want to quit but are finding it a bit hard to do so. Hopefully they will succeed eventually.

Doctors and some others (usually liberals) like to say that everything you do is addictive and that you as a human being are incapable of controlling what you do. If you want to quit, throw them away, destroy them and do not buy any. Usually you have to ask for them anyways, so since you do control what you say, simply stop yourself from saying that you wish to purchase them. It may be an urge, but you have control over them.
