Did you put up a tree this year?

If so, was it artificial or real? I have heard so many protests against using real trees and hurting our enviroment just so people can a tree in their house for a little over a month just to toss is out. But there are local farmers everywhere that grow trees specifically for Christmas, and then they can recycled and go right back into the earth.

We always used artificial trees. When we were more into the "Christmas" thing, we actually had a fake tree that my dad bought two months before he died. Mom loved putting it up when I was still gee-whiz about trees, lights, Santa, and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, but as I grew older and a bit more cynical, we sort of just stopped bothering. But that artificial tree lasted for almost 27 years, and I'm sure whoever has it now probably is still putting it up.
