birth control

Aren't there some very common birth control pills that doctors have found sometimes treat acne rather well? It seems to me that if your acne has a hormonal basis this can help a woman treat acne.

I don't know about this. If there is any birth control pills that will help prevent acne, I will recommend it to my friends. I will research about it in google and wil know more about it.

A couple. One really popular one that I see on commercials all of the time is the Yasmin. My doctor wanted to put me on it, but I don't want to experience any of the side effects and breast cancer runs HIGH in our family on both sides. No thanks to birth control for me.

Yes birth control in a certain dose is sometimes used for treatment of acne. I have to agree that I don't think it is worth the side effects to try it.

I am 43 and still having chronic acne. I just went on Yaz (been on it 8 days now) and it seems to be having a positive effect: fewer, smaller, more superficial break outs. I was on Yasmin several years ago (which didn't work for me at all, nor did 2 courses of Accutante). I was prescribed the Yaz to treat some pre-menapausal symptoms and really had no expectations that anything, at this late point, would help my skin. I am cautiously optimistic, though. I'll have to report back after a month.
