Accutane

Has anybody used Accutane to get rid of acne?

I have read some reviews for Accutane and it looks like it works well for the most part. There does appear to be some side-effects though, like depression and dehydration. Can anybody offer some insight as to whether or not this treatment is worth the drawbacks?

Since acne is an allergic reaction, the medication used for curing can be very sensitive and can cause problems. make sure you use the prescribed drug's information booklet or paper before using them.

If the side effects of accutane are depression and dehydration, i guess it won't be worthy to use it. Dehydration may be treated easily, but how about depression? You would be needing a regular visit to a Psychiatrist. This product as they say is really effective, but we need to read the product information insert before we use such things.

Yes it does sound like there are a lot of side effects and there you cannot take it if you are or intend to get pregnant.

One thing i know is that i read this medicine is very dangerous if you use it while you are pregnant or even if you might try to become pregnant while using.

I've used Accutane

When I was a teen I had very little acne, after my first child was born I started having a serious problem with it. After years of trying things and another child I took accutane for 6 months. I had great results until I got pregnant again. But it was no picnic, my skin peeled off and burned. My eyes dried out really bad and I itched constantly. They warned me that I would still have to take great care of my skin but it was really so much better. Also that I would have to take it again at some point in my life. My brother also took it after seeing my results and his skin is still way better. I think it's worth it if you aren't going to be having any hormone changes anytime soon.

Accutane definitely does work but it is a last resort. I had very severe acne on my back, neck and chest when I was 16 and the spots were very painful large swellings. I couldn't concentrate at school due to the pain, I couldn't sleep properly and whatever clothes I wore it always hurt. So I was referred to a specialist who put me on accutane. I took it for around 6 months and it pretty much cleared up all my acne. It does also result in very dry skin so daily application of aqueous cream or something similar is necessary, even now 7/8 years on the skin on my face is dry and I need to moisturise regularly.

Accutane in my case caused me headaches, backaches, depression, fatigue, chapped lips, and yes I was very dehydrated half of the time so take vitamins and drink lots of water. It's good to use Cetaphil Face wash and moisturizer and stock up on chap stick!!!!

HI,

Accutane is a form of vitamin A. It reduces the amount of oil released by oil glands in your skin, and helps your skin renew itself more quickly.

Accutane is used to treat severe nodular acne. It is usually given after other acne medicines or antibiotics have been tried without successful treatment of symptoms..

Thank you....
