Topical tetracycline

My son was perscribed tetracycline for his acne and my neice Erythromycine both topical anti biotics. Why were they perscribed different one's? Do they work in different ways?

I think it depends on the case of your son and niece. We have different skin types that's why dermatologists play a big role in treating skin diseases. Tetracycline and erythromycin are both antibiotics. But you should have discussed it with the dermatologist because he/she is the only one who could give you an exact answer to your question.
