I wear glasses too, all the time. I would make sure that the part of the glasses that touches the nose is clean. You might want him to start cleaning that part just about everday, just because that's a popular area for sweat to collect.

These days, eleven is not very young to have breakouts. My sister has had them since she was about nine or ten, so it's nothing new. The way that the original poster described it only being on his nose, eating habits probably aren't the deal here. My bet is on the glasses, because that used to happen to me too.

You are correct Jewel.
The diet or eating habit is not the cause of this child's acne. It is the glasses. The formation of sweating on the bridge or connection of the glasses cause bacterial infection onto the nose. |

That's what I thought it would be. I wear glasses, and I know that sweat collects under the bridge, and it doesn't have a way to get out. That nose piece is rubbing on your skin all the time, giving the bacteria lots of time to sit.

Yes, that might be acne. Eleven years old can also start having acne. Age is not really a factor in the appearance of such because different people have different stages of sexual development. Some may develop at an early age and some at a later stage. The teenage years is only the stage wherein MOST people develop acne.
I guess you just have to let your child wipe bridge of his nose every time he sweats to avoid accumulation of oil. |
