Confidence

Does acne itself and acne marks play a vital role in decreasing confidence among teenagers? Almost all teenagers get freaked out by acne problem, does it put a bad impact on their daily lives?

Yes, a teenager, or even adult, with acne may experience a lower sense of confidence in themselves. It's really a shame, but it is true. I know some people that had very severe cases of acne, and they had really low self-esteem.

I got adult acne, and that affected my confidence a great deal. I was sure everyone was staring at my blemishes, which in most cases was true. This was difficult to handle as an adult; I can't imagine the strength it takes to handle it as a teen.

I think that it could actually have a devastating effect on teenagers. All of the bullying that could go along with it or kids just acting grossed out, not getting a bf or gf, or getting asked to a "big" dance. It can ruin your childhood memories.

I would have to say that yes it can. I think any of us who have or had acne know that it makes us a little self conscious at times.

yes it can really rock a teen's confidence if they are having a big problem with acne. This is a time when teens want to feel as if they are looking their best.

I believe it does affect a teenagers confidence because many people with acne feel as they are ugly or are worthless which is really not true. they are just as good as anyone else, they just have some skin problems.

Having acne does affect many teens confidence about what they can do. Some teens don't want to draw attention to themselves because they don't want others to see their acne, and in this way making them less confident.

Well it makes you look ugly if you have too much of it or even just a few in akward places. With that in mind, of course it affects your confidence! You know you are looking freaky and that people are thinking that when they see you.

Teenagers are very sensitive and emotional so I would not be surprised if they did indeed have their confidence lowered by having a lot of acne. It would only make sense.
