I learned this the hard way, my blackheads are pretty bad, but I had a lot of them in places I could pop them, so I did, and afterwards, my face was covered in scarlet blotches from using my nails to squeeze the pus, or whatever it is, out.

Not to mention that one nasty spot on my forehead has been bleeding for about 3 hours now.

How long did it take for the scarlet blotches to go away?

I used to pop blackheads, and it would work, but my face would be red for about an hour or so. Then it was fine.

Dermatologists say you can create infections by popping blemishes/squeezing blackheads. It can also cause some pitting, so it is a good thing to avoid. But then again, you know that now

I have had some of my popped pimples bleed for a while. I actually ended up having to call into my job once and say I would be coming in late because it took me an half hour to get one zit to stop bleeding. I just told them I had a nose bleed.
