Well-meaning neighbor
When I was in my early teens and first moved to this house, the couple next door and I became really good friends. He was in his mid 50s and his wife was in her late 40s, so they became like adoptive parents in a way.
What Germaine - the wife - hated seeing on my face were zits, and every once in a while she'd tell me to go to the kitchen, where she would have a bottle of alcohol and some cotton balls waiting. She'd carefully pop a zit, then clean the blood, pus, and oil out with the alcohol. Ouch, did that smart... |
